I come from a small town with big goals and high expectations. One of my main goals is to play football at the next level. I’ve known what I wanted to do after high school since I was 7 years old. There’s nothing better than my family motivating, believing, and helping me achieve my goal not only in sports but most importantly in school. As years went on I've learned how hard it is to play at the next level and I will not be able to accomplish my goals without my family. It all started when I was ball boy for my cousins team. When they asked me to be ball boy, the feeling wasn’t the same as how it sounded. It felt like I was being asked to be apart of the NFL, it was an honor to be apart of that team. I was playing pee-wee football at the time and the fact that I was on the sideline with the older guys, I felt like I was the coolest guy and had the best job ever. Just seeing that excitement after a win or seeing those tears after a loss gave me love for the game. It all comes down to who’s the most discipline in the 4th quarter. That team had so many good athletes, I actually thought they were the real Atlanta Falcons and ever since then I've been an Atlanta Falcons fan. As I got older I got to understand the game more. I learned how hard it’s going to be to play college ball. I could have easily changed my dreams to something else but nothing made me feel as good as the announcer singing the national anthem right before the game and hearing your coach say “Kickoff!” or “Kickoff return!” when the national anthem is over. My family made sure I studied the game by watching college football and NFL every Saturday and Sunday. To be a good football player to me was you had to have muscles, speed, and aggressiveness. That all changed when I got to high school because you don’t have to have muscles to be a good football player. I’m not saying i’m the best but I wasn’t at the bottom of the chart. What really matters is knowing your fundamentals, studying your opponent, giving it your all, and believing in god. I actually found this out last year by experience, I lead the league in interceptions, I got 1st team all league defense and tied for 3rd for most interceptions in the valley. It didn’t happen overnight, I had to work for it and I got that in return. My family til this day gives me that motivation to be the best but when I have a talk with my grandma, mom, uncle or my dad about my future it really touches my heart. I can’t wait to see what god has planned for me in the future. I’m not saying i'm going to be in the NFL, i’m saying I have a chance. I love making my family proud, especially when it’s something that will last forever. There’s nothing better than your family by your side day by day pushing and motivating you to get and be better everyday. Nothing comes easy in life and if it does it won’t last for long. Put the time and effort in on achieving your goal and you will get the results you were expecting.
