Winter break went by really fast. I had a lot of things that needed to get done during that time and i didn’t complete all of them. I had gotten my wisdom teeth pulled out, that was about a week that went to waste. Other than that the break was good. Us basketball players and coaches went to a tournament in Santa Maria. We stayed in a hotel for 3 days, it was really fun. It brought the team closer and that was something that was needed. I didn’t play in the tournament because i fractured my leg during football and it was steel healing. Saturday the 2nd was my first practice back and Monday the 4th was my first game. It feels good to be back, season is going by fast and as a senior i have to live in the moment while it lasts. Take advantages of the opportunities i get to be on that court with my teammates, not only in the games but at practice as well.
Reality has hit me, it hit me the first day going back to school from winter break. I like the feeling you get when you buy for yourself or for others with your own money. I need to get a job to support myself, to me it doesn't feel right when my family does it. It’s going so fast, i’m ready for the next chapter in life. The only downside is i won’t see my friends as much as i do in high school.
Before graduation i need to complete my job shadow along with my exit interview. I was suppose to do my job shadow during winter break but the person i was doing it on decided to go out of town last minute. I’m not really nervous for my exit interview because it’s about yourself and that should be easy but then again it’s easier said than done. I also need to pass government. I’m on pace so thats a good thing, we have 1 MT left along with a project. I still need to turn in my hours. I was a pee-wee football coach. My little brother was on the team and me and my uncle were the coaches. As long as i don’t go over on tardies i’ll be good to graduate.
The thing that sucked about first semester was football. I only played six games. I had injuries left and right. There was not one game where i played 100% healthy. It really sucks because i had the chance to play at the next level and it all went down the drain my senior year. Plus us getting a new coaching staff really sucked. Especially for us seniors. On the bright side we made it to the playoffs. I played thru a fractured leg in that game. We lost when we shouldn’t have. We didn’t show up ready except for us seniors but there was only a handful of us. That’s a game i’ll never forget.
