Since my first journal entry, a lot has changed. In my first journal entry I talked about moving forward with football and going to a university. This football season I missed 5 games due to injuries, they’re still not healed I just played through the pain. Not that long ago I asked myself if I still wanted to play sports after high school? If I even wanted to go to a university? It came to the point where I had a talk with my parents about my future. After high school I will be attending Fresno City, and rapping on the side along with a job. My parents don’t like how I want to have a career in rapping because they seen “many fail” but everyone is different. Don’t get me wrong I love sports especially football but it’s not meant for me to play after high school. Next one in line for a full ride scholarship is my little brother, me as the person he looks up to will continue to push him to get better everyday with sports, especially school.
Senior year is treating me good so far. I only need 4 classes to graduate, that lifts a lot of weight off my shoulders. It's also going by very fast, it's already playoff time for football. Today we face Caruthers in Caruthers(Nov. 13th). They’re beatable but we have to stay focused and hustle from whistle to whistle. With football almost over, I have 2 sport’s left to play. Basketball and track, I've never played track nor do I like running but it won’t hurt to try something new and to stay in shape. At first we were on hold for grad night but last week they marked us down for June 7th. That’s going to be an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Until then, I have to stay focus on passing my senior year and being a good example for my little brother.
Nothing feels better than my family and friends supporting me through all high school especially my senior year. At one time, I honestly didn’t want to go to college. I just wanted to work and rap. I had a talk with my dad and grandma about going to college and what the benefits were. They changed my mind about going to college. It’s not just them either, I have a big family and they all want me to succeed in life and set good examples for the little ones.
I'm doing good in my classes, I've switched over to high school diploma because i’m going to be attending a community college first. I want my senior year to be as easy as can be. By the end of the semester I have to pass government for sure because it’s only a semester class and I need it to graduate. I also need to do my job shadow, it’s due at the end of semester. I should have done it last year but I slacked of just a bit.
